About Leopard Geckos

Leopard geckos (eublepharis macularius) are a type of eyelid gecko that are very common in the pet trade. They are perhaps the most common type of pet gecko. They are very popular among reptile breeders. Like many other reptiles, they are bred to have a variety of morphs. Their natural coloration is usually yellow with black spots and sometimes a purple tint in areas. They are a relatively small lizard, getting to about 10 inches. They are naturally found in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and northern India.
